Geographic Areas Covered
The Windsor Southeast Supervisory Union's geographic area covers four towns (Hartland, Weathersfield, Windsor and West Windsor) and three school districts: Hartland, Weathersfield, and Mt. Ascutney (Windsor/West Windsor). The four towns sit in eastern Windsor County along the Connecticut River, which is Vermont's border with New Hampshire.

#Legal standing and how it is funded
Windsor Southeast Supervisory Union is a supervisory union under Vermont law (16 V.S.A. § 261): a legal entity with its own board and its own budget, but no taxing authority. The SU Board adopts the SU budget in the fall. Its cost is then assessed to the three member districts, each of which has its own elected board, its own budget and its own vote on Town Meeting Day, so the SU budget reaches voters as the assessment line inside each district's budget, alongside the state revenues the SU receives directly. Where that money goes is the subject of How the SU money flows.
#Level of education
The SU serves students from PreK through grade 12 in four school buildings. Hartland and Weathersfield each operate one PreK–8 school and do not operate high schools; both tuition their grade 9–12 students, who may choose any approved school. Mt. Ascutney operates Albert Bridge School (PreK–6) in West Windsor and Windsor School (PreK–12) in Windsor, whose high school also receives tuition students from the neighboring districts as well as from New Hampshire.
